Suggestions Of Some Great Cafes For A Post Walk Tea/Coffee & Cake

Newtonmore and the wider Badenoch and Strathspey area has a great selection of food and drink outlets using fresh seasonal ingredients plus amazing local food and drink producers.   The waters of the River Spey are world famous for both the salmon that return to spawn in the river and its clear sparkling water which is the base ingredient for the world famous Speyside whisky industry.   The local hills abound with deer and game which is exported around the world to eager consumers.   Local chefs and bakers use these wonderful local ingredients to create memorable meals for you to savour while you are in the area.   Do not miss the chance to try local venison and reduce your food miles!

Newtonmore boasts several producers including Meikles of Scotland that makes Stags Breath whisky liqueur;  Simpsons Game produces locally caught game and venison; cafes inspired by the local ingredients showcase their skills in making delicious cakes.   Free range eggs can be purchased direct from the producers.  Kingussie boasts the Cheese Neuk and the wonderful local butchers D Gilmour.

These are some of our favourite suggestions for great cafes for a post re vitalizing walk tea/coffee and cake.
