Newtonmore is in the Cairngorm National Park at the junction of the A9 Perth to Inverness road and the A86 to Fort William.  Balvatin Cottages are at the southern end of Newtonmore on the village approach road.

Steading 5 is a short walk from the railway station and Citylink bus stop. The shops, bars, restaurants and cafes located on or just off the Main Street, everything within the village can be reached within a leisurely 15 minute stroll of the Steading.

By Train

Newtonmore has a regular service from Edinburgh, Glasgow and London on the main line to Inverness.  The station is less than half mile from Steading 5. The overnight sleeper from London Euston, has  a scheduled stop in Newtonmore at or just after 7am on a daily basis.

By Bus

The Scottish citylink bus service operates throughout the day from Perth, Edinburgh and Glasgow en route to Aviemore and Inverness.

By air

The nearest airport is Inverness.  The airport is used by Easyjet, Ryanair, British Airways, British Midland and Flybe.  Cars can be hired at the airport.
