Walking Newtonmore provides excellent walking for
all levels and abilities. At least 11 walks can be taken from the Steading, from low level walks to strenuous hill walks.
The Wildcat Trail (10km) is a well sign posted path around the outskirts of the village. This gives a great introduction
to the area from the Spey River to the hills behind the village.

There are numerous Mountain biking routes and the excellent Wolftrax facility is just a few miles away
in Laggan. Mountain bikes can be hired at Wolftrax and also in Aviemore.
Watersports are available at Loch Insh (Kincraig) and also at Loch Morlich, near Aviemore. Sailing,windsurfing, canoeing are available and rowing
boats can be hired.
The Newtonmore Riding Centre is visible from Steading 5 and offers pony days and riding holidays, half and full day pony treking, riding lessons
and has access to 2500 acres of open land.

Fishing on the River Spey (with a locally available
permit), swimming, playing tennis, watching shinty matches and bowling
are also available in Newtomore. Skiing (in season) is available in the Cairngorms where a range of runs
exist for the beginner to the expert. Details of mountain climbing and hill walking around Newtonmore is
